New coronavirus cases reported in four Manor ISD schools

MANOR, Texas - New coronavirus cases have been reported in four schools within the Manor Independent School District.
The Manor ISD School Health Services Department and administrators in Manor ISD were notified of one scholar at Manor Middle School, two scholars at Blake Manor Elementary, and a staff member at ShadowGlen Elementary School who have tested positive for COVID-19. As precautionary measures, we are following the recommendation from our local health officials, Manor ISD said in a press release. Due to privacy requirements, we will not be releasing the names of the individuals or details that may identify them.
The battle for Austin’s Mayor Protem seat continues as Councilmember Alison Alter, who is riding high on her recent run-off re-election win, is throwing in her bid for the position. Councilmember Greg Casar is also vying for the Protem spot and has the Mayor and others on his side.
On the Council’s message board Alter adopts the message laid out previously by her colleague Councilmember Paige Ellis, noting that the Council now has a supermajority of elected women, they believe it is important for women to continue leading political institutions.
Councilmember Leslie Pool has pulled her support for Casar’s bid for the spot and is now backing Alter. Councilmember and onetime Mayor Protem herself, Katie Tovo is also backing the move.
