Jim Langley, president of the Hoover Historical Society, led a guided tour through Oak Hill Cemetery in downtown Birmingham on Friday morning and many of those following him through the oak-shaded lanes were descendants of one of the famous families buried there. “The people that founded Birmingham are pretty much all buried here,” said Langley, author of “Tales of Oak Hill,” about the 1871 cemetery located just west of the BJCC Legacy Arena. The cemetery was founded the same year as Birmingham, 150 years ago.
