MUMBAI: The Dawoodi Bohra community has set up a Covid-19 ‘war room’ in Mumbai to facilitate oxygen requirements, provide real-time updates on availability of beds in hospitals and help the families in burial of the dead.
Set up at Saifee Burhani Upliftment Project in Bhendi Bazaar, the war room is being managed by a 60-member team comprising multi-specialty doctors, social service volunteers and local authorities.
“The war rooms, one run by the Bohra community at Bhendi Bazaar and the other by the Doodhwala builders at Agripada, are doing fantastic work. I do whatever I can to ensure they run smoothly,” said Samajwadi Party legislator Rais Shaikh.
