TOHATCHI, N.M. – The Navajo Nation Council’s Law and Order Committee (LOC) held a regular committee meeting Aug. 28 at the Tohatchi Chapter House to hear two legislations and listen to the concerns of the community regarding public safety.
Miss Navajo Nation Pageant contestants Amy N. Begay and Myleka N. John, both from Kayenta, were introduced by their council delegate, Shaandiin Parrish and received recognition by the 25th Navajo Nation Council July 19.
Two longtime Miss Navajo admirers and supporters will finally get their chance to enter the spotlight of a historic competition. Together, they will face challenges designed to determine one overall winner.
Members of the 25th Navajo Nation Council hosted a meeting June 23 with Utah State legislators, San Juan County Commissioners and officials, the Seven County Infrastructure Coalition and Navajo Nation chapter officials during the 17th Annual Governor’s Native American Summit in Orem, Utah.
In front of a filled Council Chamber, which has not been possible since COVID-19 forced the tribal government to close its doors to the Navajo public, Delegate Otto Tso was chosen to be the 25th Navajo Nation Council Speaker Pro Tem.
