MIDDLESEX COUNTY, NJ With New Jersey recently lifting outdoor gathering restrictions, many county municipalities are organizing events for Memorial Day this year.

VFW Post 9111 will hold a Memorial Day service at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 31 at the post 11 Henderson Road, Kendall Park.

Edison:
Edison VFW Memorial Post 3117 will host a wreathe laying ceremony on Monday, May 31, 11 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Park, Stony Rd, and Route 27. There will be a complimentary barbecue immediately after the ceremony.

EDISON, NJ Nicole Sandrik-Arzadi of Sewaren, a junior at The Wardlaw+Hartridge School in Edison, was selected as a recipient of this year’s University of Vermont Citizen Scholar Book Award. This award is designed to recognize outstanding citizens in their pursuit of higher education.
Putting knowledge into action for the betterment of humanity is at the foundation of a University of Vermont education. The Citizen Scholar Book Award celebrates high school students around the US who demonstrate that spirit of citizenship and scholarship. They may have campaigned for a cause, founded a community action group, or conducted research aiding social progress. These students are the movers, shakers, and change makers of the world.
