Shri Mahila Sewa Sahakari Bank, popularly known as Sewa Bank, has carved out a niche in the cooperative movement. It is a bank promoted by self-employed women from the informal sector in Gujarat that has made a difference to 6 lakh members.

Kolkata: Opening no-frill bank accounts is just the first step towards achieving inclusive growth and the authorities need to ensure that new account holders access financial services in every turn of their life, says Jayshree Vyas, managing director of Sewa Bank, which has been at the forefront of this movement over the past five decades.
