Hickory Public Schools announced students will have a remote learning day on Friday due to a large number of staff requesting to attend the 3A state championship game in Chapel
Seventy-First High School's Anthony Quinn Jr. was set to be one of the top returning rushers in the 3A classification this season. Quinn Jr. announced on Friday that he is transferring to Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School of northern Georgia and reclassifying to the class of 2024. Rabun Gap plays with North Carolina private high schools in the N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association.
Seventy-First was poised to return all five starters from last year's NCHSAA 3A championship game, but a coaching change and two transfers picked away at this year's hopes. Davis stayed put, and the Falcons are off to an even better start.
