The salaries of central government employees are likely to increase in 2021 as the government is expected to restore the four per cent Dearness Allowance (DA) hike that was put on hold in last year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Several reports now indicate that the additional four per cent DA could be rolled out in January. However, the government has not officially made such an announcement. As the situation stands, the DA remains at 17 per cent as the government had put on hold the four per cent hike till July 2021.
