dpa | Die detaillierten Vorwürfe sexueller Belästigung mehrerer Frauen haben den demokratischen Gouverneur des Bundesstaats New York, Andrew Cuomo, den Rückhalt seiner mächtigsten Parteifreunde gekostet. „Ich denke, er sollte zurücktreten“, sagte US-Präsident Joe Biden über den einst als Vorzeigepolitiker seiner Partei gefeierten Gouverneur. Auch die demokratische Führung des US-Kongresses forderte Cuomo zum Amtsverzicht auf. Im Bundesstaat New York erklärte der Vorsitzende des Repräsentantenhauses, der Demokrat Carl Heastie, ein möglichst rasches Amtsenthebungsverfahren gegen Cuomo solle folgen.
