Varanasi: President Ram Nath Kovind arrived in Varanasi on Saturday and offered prayers at the Kashi Vishwanath temple and then witnessed the mesmerizing Ganga Aarti at the Dashashwamedh Ghat in the evening.
The President on a three-day east UP tour with his wife Savita Kovind and daughter Swati, was earlier welcomed by Governor Anandiben Patel and chief minister Yogi Adityanath on landing at the LBSI Airport in the afternoon.
From airport, the President went to Banaras Locomotive Works (BLW) by helicopter for staying at its guest house.
Later, the President entered the Kashi Vishwanath Dham (corridor) area through Chhattadwar to enter Kashi Vishwanath temple complex through Rani Bhawani entry point.

SONBHADRA: President Ram Nath Kovind said on Sunday that without the development of the tribal community and the forest dwellers, growth of the society and the country cannot be done.
He was addressing a gathering here after the inauguration of the newly-constructed building of school and hostel of Seva Kunj Ashram run by Seva Samarpan Sansthan in Chapki. When Lord Ram emerged victorious in the war against Ravan, the vanvaasi (forest dwellers) extended great assistance. In the same way, if the society and the country has to move ahead, then the forest dwellers community has to be first taken ahead, Kovind said.

Lucknow: President Ram Nath Kovind said that the overall development of the country cannot be imagined without developing rural India, tribals, and forest dwellersâ communities.
Addressing Vanvasi Samagam at Chapki in Sonbhadra, the President said it should be our endeavour to ensure that forest dwellers remain an integral part of modern development of India.
âIf anyone wants to get acquainted with real India then one should visit rural and forest areas where the soul of the country resides. Development of the country will remain incomplete without developing forests and people living there,â he pointed.
