At a special meeting on Monday, the Snowmass Village Town Council identified several items related to Krabloonik Dog Sledding’s lease with the town that the facility’s owners will need to address in the coming weeks.
By and large, the “burden of proof” to show that Krabloonik Dog Sledding is in compliance with state rules and local best practices falls on the facility operators, who maintain and provide the records showing that they’re meeting requirements and best practices.
The operators of Krabloonik Dog Sledding have “neglected to follow through with the majority of their promises” established in the Best Practices Plan attached to their lease with the Town of Snowmass Village, according to a Feb. 8 report submitted to the town by Krabloonik Best Practices Review Committee member Seth Sachson.
Krabloonik Dog Sledding in Snowmass Village has been the subject of state and local investigations as well as ongoing town discussions in response to concerns and formal complaints submitted to the town of Snowmass Village, the Pitkin County Sheriff’s Office and the Colorado Pet Animal Care Facilities Program (PACFA).
