Man Who Sold Rifle To Odessa Shooter Sentenced To Federal Prison   LUBBOCK, TX After pleading guilty in October, the man who sold the AR-15-style rifle to the Odessa shooter has been sentenced to two years in federal prison. Marcus Anthony Braziel, 45, of Lubbock had previously pled guilty to unlicensed firearms dealing and concealing the proceeds from weapons sales from the IRS. Braziel was charged after investigators discovered he sold  Seth Ator the rifle used to kill 7 people and wound 25 others. Ayor had previously been identified as mentally defective and was prohibited by law from possessing a firearm.  After being barred from buying a weapon at a sporting goods store due to his mental status, Ayor sought to purchase a gun from Braziel, who did not run background checks.

Sharon Griffith held up a picture of her son, Joseph, as she stood before Marcus Braziel in a Lubbock federal courtroom.  The photo of her youngest child and only son was a selfie taken at a concert a month before he was gunned down during the Aug. 31, 2019  mass shooting in Midland and Odessa. We didn t know it would be the last photo he would take, she said.  Her son, who she referred to as Joe, left behind two children - a 13-year-old daughter and an 11 year-old-son.  He was active in his church and was a good father, husband, son and brother, she said.
