Daniel Allan Boyer, owner of Ridgetop Orchards and an influential member of the Pennsylvania and U.S. apple industry, died Sunday, Sept. 4 at his home surrounded by his family. He was 68.
"Dan was a larger-than-life figure who brought remarkable passion, experience and energy into the beautiful orchard acres of Ridgetop," the company said in a statement. "His love of the land, dedication to his family and teachings to staff will continue to have a lasting impact in the Chestnut Ridge region he called home."
