The Ondo State Security Network Agency (popularly known as Operation Amotekun) has clarified that the killers of a farmer and a vigilante operative at the Jugbere Farm Settlement in Owo last Thursday, were illegal miners and not herdsmen.

Operatives of the Ondo State Security Network, codenamed Amotekun Corps, have arrested four suspects over the Thursday’s killing of two officers of the outfit and burning of its operational vehicle and motorcycles at Ago Sanusi in Owo Local Government Area of the state.
The Commander of the Corps in the state, Adetunji Adeleye, who disclosed this at a press conference in Akure, said the four suspects were also arrested in connection with the killing of a farmer and a member of the vigilante group in the village.
A farmer and a member of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria were murdered by suspected herdsmen on Thursday, while the operational vehicle and motorcycles belonging to Amotekun were set ablaze.
