here and what is that strategy? well, think the question we answered is why is the president who has essentially been in hiding suddenly decide to come out in front of the camera? the primary motivator is remaining center stage. he s not a policy he s not a effective manager. he s boreded by details. what he s fascinating by is the sort of his own cult of personality. yesterday was the celebration of the incoming house democrats. it was a celebration of nancy pelosi s new tenure. i think he saw the spotlight getting stolen away from him so he went for the sort of easiest fastest bid he could make. to get the spotlight back. so you have this bid of absurd dinner theater. up next, president trump has made clear he will keep the government shutdown if he doesn t get money for his wall. now he may be looking to go around congress, asking for more
criticism. she s not likable or too similar to hillary clinton. in 2020, there could be four running. that would make it harder for the same-sexist people to make it through and limit the cycle. everyone is saying there s something we don t like about all the women running. there s a larger conversation to be had to the extent americans are sexist. that is reflected in cuomo and finestein endorsing biden, not harris. i think part of the interesting dynamic is we saw a congress sworn in unlike any we have seen before. more women. more diversity. millions of americans have already said we are looking for something different. we are looking for something that can shake up washington. we are looking for something that doesn t look like a page full of middle-aged white men.
on is trying to reopen the government which is obviously not working because the president and senate controlled by republicans simply do not want to come to an agreement. with this new congress not in their hands in the house. let s go back to a point you made. you know how government and how these departments work. we keep hearing more and more about the problems cropping up because of the shutdown. not just the 800,000 people who aren t getting paid. so the president insists that all of this is to fix immigration. we know border agents are working without being paid. the backlog at immigration clerks have been growing because judges and clerks have been told to stay home. everify, the government system, is essentially offline. if you go online, it says we re not operating. is there a point and how soon is that where that piece of the story becomes a dominate part of this debate? i think it s likely sooner than later. i m a bit surprised democrats haven t pointed this out yet.
american university here in washington today. right across the street from mere. the president said if congress kills the deal, they re paving iran s path to the bomb. on june 10th, 1963, john f. kennedy delivered a speech from the same campus, urging a test ban treaty with the then soviet union and a broader commitment to peace between the two countries. i realize the pursuit of peace is not as dramatic as the pursuit of war and frequently the words of the pursuers fall on deaf ears, but we have no more urgent task. our problems are man-made. therefore, they can be solved by man. and man can be as big as he wants. no problem of human destiny is beyond human beings. well, president kennedy warned that day that too many of us think peace is impossible and war is inevitable. 52 years later, president obama
