on is trying to reopen the government which is obviously not working because the president and senate controlled by republicans simply do not want to come to an agreement. with this new congress not in their hands in the house. let s go back to a point you made. you know how government and how these departments work. we keep hearing more and more about the problems cropping up because of the shutdown. not just the 800,000 people who aren t getting paid. so the president insists that all of this is to fix immigration. we know border agents are working without being paid. the backlog at immigration clerks have been growing because judges and clerks have been told to stay home. everify, the government system, is essentially offline. if you go online, it says we re not operating. is there a point and how soon is that where that piece of the story becomes a dominate part of this debate? i think it s likely sooner than later. i m a bit surprised democrats haven t pointed this out yet.
