His death attributed to an accidental mixture of two painkillers. Researchers looked for signs of chronic traumatic encephalopathy or cte. A degenerative brain disease cauased by repeated trauma to the head thats been found in dozens of former nfl players. Elias according to a New York Times diagnosed sash and even more the disease had advanced to a seen in someone two of the doctors that conducted the exam, said the severity of cte was on par with former nfl star junior seau who comitted suicide of 43.
