A week after Iowa received its first doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech coronavirus vaccine, it has begun receiving thousands of doses of a second company s vaccine, and pharmacy teams will start vaccinating residents and staff of long-term care facilities next week, Gov. Kim Reynolds said Tuesday.
Reynolds noted at a news conference that because of a federal planning error, the state is receiving about 20% less vaccine than expected this month. But she said such complications are understandable. It has been and it will continue to be a monumental effort, she said. .There are bound to be some bumps in the road as we head down this new path.
