Hewlett Packard Enterprises’ planned $374 million acquisition of cloud data management and data protection software vendor Zerto is part of a longer-term vision to help HPE transform to more of a cloud-native, software-defined powerhouse with a focus on the company’s HPE GreenLake edge-to-cloud platform, according to HPE CEO Antonio Neri.
HPE is rolling out Data Services Console, a cloud offering that utilizes HPE Aruba Edge Services Platform to support AI-based analytics, workflow automation, and security.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise says its latest innovations transform HPE Storage into a cloud-native, software-defined data services business.
HPE s storage announcement features a data services platform said to collapse silos and remove complexity, thus maximising agility and innovation while reducing business risk.
The new platform becomes part of HPE GreenLake cloud services.
Three specific products were announced.
Data Services Cloud Console is based on the technology used in Aruba Central, and provides a unified API for HPE-led automation for applications, partner-led and custom-built data services, and gives developers access to infrastructure and data as code.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise Tuesday turned the heat up on storage competitors with a breakthrough data-services, software-as-a-service (SaaS) makeover that delivers a unified cloud native, software defined public cloud experience on premise.
Hewlett Packard Enterprise has converted its entire storage business into a cloud-native, software-defined data services business, with a platform offering storage as-a-service.
The service is available through HPE GreenLake, via three new services that help simplify data operations from edge to cloud, including Data Services Cloud Console, Cloud data services and HPE Alletra.
HPE said the new launches allow new and existing customers to transition to a cloud operating model with data management and infrastructure services.
