A local family is at risk of losing their home due to a struggle with COVID-19.
Darlene Welsford had been in quarantine for five days, as of Saturday, Dec. 19. Having lost her job in October, Welsford and her family have been struggling throughout the pandemic.

An eviction notice was delivered to the family on Dec. 8 and they were given a 30-day period to vacate the property.
Welsford said she understands her landlord’s perspective, noting: “Our landlord has been incredible, but she is struggling to pay her bills and we’re all struggling right now… she has a mortgage to pay and she lost one of her other properties as well.”
