Pharmacist students, lift your hands so we can wave at you. Also our members of our drug usage union are here today to testify so i want to acknowledge all of you. And many advocates from the community so well have a very Great Commission meeting today. And just on that note, well let you know President Trump announced he is helping Human Services agency to declare a Opioid Crisis a publichealth emergency. This does not provide us new dollars. There are a couple of things i think are worth noting, one is that there may be flexibility about the regulations of certain medications considering being able to pay for tele medicine for many Rural Communities who do do not have access, this would be a real important part. Also naloxone, trying to reduce cost to that and also there is some concern from h. I. V. Advocates in the way theyve allowed for thinking about flexibility to shift resources from h. I. V. And a. I. D. S. To this issue but i think over all, knowing that its a publichealth em
So that leads to my next question. Youre tracking that particular amount of money, if you will, and where its going, its going strictly to new infrastructure . To modernization . What is the plan there . Right. Well, currently today, if we exit a property, that money gets returned to the u. S. Treasury. Were not able to reinvest that. The infrastructure bill would change that. So thats why were very supportive of that. What we do save are the recurring savings, the maintenance. So we dont heat the buildings, we dont have to repair them if we get rid of them. That remains in our general what we call our nrn budgets, our recurring maintenance budgets. Do you think there will be a way to, in some way, get an idea of how its converted directly or indirectly to care or. Yes. Services. Yes. And what we would plan on diagnosis is reinvesting that money back into probably nrn or minor construction projects. Okay. We could track that. Thank you. Another question i have is one of the things that
Reporter highway 120 is close to the area right now. And the area around there is under mandatory evacuations. Three hikers had to be airlifted out of the area being tracked from the flames. Darya the problem here is that gusty wind. mark you can see the helicopter trying to navigate through the gusty winds. The reason may have to do this is because the terrain is so steep they can gather machinery there. Humidity is pushing the 100 percent mark. Those gusty conditions of 20 mi. Per hour are expected to increase. Michell reporter three factors work against the fire fighters. One the increasing winds. To it will become sunny which will bring up temperatures. And three mark we have temperatures in the upper 50s and the 60s reporter you can see the huge smoke plume rising into the sky. If you have any pictures you can email them to us. My qualifications is im a formerly homeless parent with a homeless child under 18. I had been in a homeless shelter two years ago. If elected to the committee, there is a lot of things that i would like to accomplish that ive seen fall in the shelter seven and a half months. These things were like related to the program areas, such as the conditiomons, simes the areas didnt really promote, you know, a safe and decent environment. For Program Activities to be conducted. The children sometimes played, you know, on things that broken furniture, staff would watch or if the children were going to fall or get injured or something, no one said anything. Thats the main focus. Another area that i would like to see improve would be reporting deficiencies like if there was an incident they didnt report it if a child was injured. The staff wouldnt file a report. It would look like maybe the parents did something. They wouldnt say your child got injured on a chair or got a scratch. There was no kin
