He then went outside to continue to talk on the phone and thats when he noticed smoke and flames. Instead of running back inside to warn the roommate, he called the roommate on the phone. The roommate was by that time trapped by the flames and made a dramatic escape. It was reported that the person that sustained the burns did run through the fire and he did have some significant seconddegree burns.
