Congressman Lamborn announces U.S. Service Academies nominees
Colorado Springs, Colo (KRDO) - Congressman Doug Lamborn announced Saturday that fifty students from Colorado s Fifth Congressional District would receive his nomination for entry into one of the four service academies; the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, and the U.S. Air Force Academy.
This year s fifty nominees were selected based on meeting or exceeding Congressman Lamborn s selection process to enter the esteemed military academies.
“We have some of the finest young men and women here today,” Lamborn told KRDO before the ceremony. “They re hard working, they’re smart, they show leadership, they’re involved with different ways of helping other people, Lamborn says, and they have a desire to serve our country.”

A member of this year’s Routt Catholic Senior class is one of Congressman Darin LaHood’s Service Academy Nominees for 2021.
Victoria Fellhauer of Jacksonville is one of 21 High School Students to be named by LaHood for potential appointment in U.S. Service Academies. Fellhauer who goes by Tori was one of only three of the group to be nominated for more than one academy.
Fellhauer was nominated for possible acceptance to both the U.S. Naval Academy, and the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. Fellhauer says she’s been inspired by her two Grandfather’s who both are military veterans.
