German Otto Kneitinger is expected to be elected as President of the
European Judo Union at the organisation’s Extraordinary Congress in
June following the resignation of Russian Sergey Soloveychik in
response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
Russian Sergey Soloveychik resigned on Sunday as president of the European Judo Union as the attack on Ukraine entered its fourth day, the same day that Vladimir Putin temporarily lost his honorary president status by the International Judo Federation.
