The New York Times published what it said was new evidence of Moscow's involvement in the bombing of the Nova Kakhovka dam. The newspaper said there was evidence to suggest that the destruction of the massive dam in June was caused by an internal explosion behind Moscow. The Kremlin accuses Kiev of sabotaging the hydroelectric dam in order to cut off a major source of water from Crimea. Ukraine accuses Russia of blowing up the dam, which has been under Russian control since the early days of the Russian war on Ukraine.
On the 475th day of the Russian invasion, as Kiev claims slight advances on the front, six people died and 19 were wounded Wednesday in Russian missile strikes. In Odessa, three people were killed and 13 wounded in a Kalibr cruise missile strike, including hitting a commercial warehouse. Three of the four Kalibr missiles fired by Russia were intercepted. Russian forces also launched ten Iranian-made Shahed-136/131 drones overnight from the Sea of Azov over southeastern Ukraine. Ukraine has not yet launched the bulk of its forces into its counteroffensive, testing the front line for weak points.
