ESSEX â Precinct 11 of the Baltimore County Police Department is hosting a collection drive to benefit the Family Crisis Center, an organization which supports survivors of domestic violence, as part of the departmentâs National Crime Victimsâ Week activities.
The precinct has collaborated with the Family Crisis Center in the past, according to Officer Michael Lewis, one of the central organizers of the drive.
âItâs just the right thing to do,â Lewis said. âWeâre just trying to support these families.â
The precinct is seeking personal hygiene items such as shampoo, deodorant, soap, combs and brushes, diapers, pull ups, socks, bath towels, infant formula, baby food, baby wipes, sanitizer, pack and play sheets and umbrellas.
Speaking about the incident, Mr Brown said he acted on instinct.
â(The officer) had been attacked by a civilian and she was hurt pretty bad,â he said.
âI just jumped out of the car and started running after him and held him down until other police officers arrived. Attendees at the Queensland Police Service Ipswich District Awards Ceremony on Wednesday.
âI didnât really think twice about it, I just jumped out and left the wife on the phone, she didnât even know what was going on.â
After checking on the officer, he managed to detain the offender by way of a citizenâs arrest.
