KNOXVILLE, Tenn. We have the right to bear arms, but with that comes a big responsibility.
Sergeant Mark Snowden with the Jefferson County Sheriff department gave some helpful tips for how to keep children safe with guns in the home. It s our responsibility to make sure that our kids are knowledgeable of the weapons, Snowden said.
Safety starts with a conversation.
Snowden said to set restrictions and explain the severity of what the device is capable of. Children will be more likely to stay away from guns if they understand the dangers.
