Sign Up A man has been given a formal warning by police after his behaviour concerned locals in Cove. Police launched an appeal to find a man who was involved in a pair of ‘concerning’ incidents in the Aberdeen community. Now, they have traced a 28-year-old and warned him about his behaviour. Sergeant Barry Wallace of the Nigg Community Policing Team said: “Following inquiries, a 28-year-old man was arrested and given a formal police warning, following concerns expressed by members of the public regarding his behaviour in Cove on Monday 11 January and Wednesday 13 January 2021.

Police appeal for witnesses to trace man The Nigg Policing team are concerned over his behavior.  On Monday January 11 at around 2:30pm a group of boys were approached and spoken to by a man near the community centre in Cove.  Two days layer, at around 3:30pm, a woman was walking with her daughter near the same area when he they were also approached by a man fitting the same description.  It is not known what was said to the witnesses when approached.  Sergeant Barry Wallace said: We understand incidents of this type are concerning to the local community and we would like to reassure them that officers are working to trace the individual involved.

Fire crews spent more than three hours battling the blaze at a building on Old Stonehaven Road in Nigg. The premises used to serve as a base for the Aberdeen Countryside Rangers Service who are charged with looking after Nigg Bay. It has been out-of-use for more than five years and is owned by Aberdeen City Council. Four appliances were called out to the incident at about 9.10pm after nearby neighbours reported seeing flames shooting out of the building.
