El Mercurio newspaper reported that a new coronavirus case was detected this time at the Eduardo Frei Montalva Base, the largest Chilean enclave in the inhospitable region, located west of King George Island and one of the most important Antarctic base of Chile.
Only two days ago, at least 36 cases based at the Bernardo O Higgins research station, also in Antarctica, tested positive for PCR tests to detect Covid-19, according to the Chilean Army.
