THOMASVILLE, Ga. — The Thomasville chapter of the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) at Southern Regional Technical College (SRTC) inducted 21 new members into the organization.
By age 7, Serenity Williams wholeheartedly knew she wanted to join the Navy. She’d do 100 pushups every day just for fun, spend time in a submarine or in a torpedo and be on a ship.
That love for the Navy was because of her mother Sherée Williams, a Navy Commander who’s been serving 25 years as an active duty officer while being a single parent.
Commander Williams – who exemplifies dominance and opportunity each time she puts on her uniform – is Serenity’s biggest role model.
“I’m living vicariously through her,” Serenity said. “I always have, and I always will.”
