According to Tanzania Football Federation (TFF), Kaze beat Sven Vandenbroeeck (formerly of rivals Simba SC) and Biashara United coach Francis Baraza to the award while Ntibazonkiza emerged top after beating Seif Karihe of Dodoma City and Simba’s Clatous Chama.
Since joining Yanga on October 22, 2020, to replace fired Serbian Zlatko Krmpotic, Kaze is yet to lose a match with the Jangwani giants.
In December, Yanga played four matches against Ruvu Shooting, Mwadui FC, Dodoma Jiji, and Ihefu FC and still came out unscathed, and thus giving him the award.
Meanwhile, since arriving at Yanga, Ntibazonkiza has been the darling of club fans as he has managed to score goals in crucial matches, his latest being in the 1-1 draw against Tanzania Prisons at the start of the second round.
“I am at Yanga at the moment and I am very happy to here, my belief is to see that we achieve the goals we set for ourselves to achieve in this campaign, and the most important one is to win the league title,” Niyonzima told reporters after signing the new deal.
“We need a championship and that is clear, we believe we will achieve those goals.”
Yanga are preparing to take on promoted Dodoma Jiji in their next league match which they have shifted to Arusha from Dar es Salaam.
On moving the match, the club’s Information Officer Hassan Bumbuli said: “We have a big fan base in Arusha that is why the game has purposely been transferred to be played there. It is our hope that people will turn out in big numbers to cherish their team.”
“If the opportunity [of signing players] will come, we will add some players but not for the sake of just signing but rather, we will be keen to see what extra skills he has to benefit the team,” Kaze said as quoted by
The Burundian, who is yet to lose a match since joining the Jangwani giants as a replacement for fired Serbian Zlatko Krmpotic, has further said he will soon unveil a list of players who will be released to join other clubs on loan deals.
Yanga maintained their top spot at the 18-team league table after cruising past Mwadui FC 5-0 in a match played at CCM Kambarage Stadium in Shinyanga on Saturday.
