As it seemed that more and more families were looking to decorate earlier for the holidays this year, Christmas tree sales at Hank’s Christmas Trees at Hartland Farm were booming. The tree-cutting season at the farm, located at 12230 Belle Meade Road in Markham, typically lasts three, maybe even four weekends. This year, Hank and Cheryll Green sold about 1,000 trees in two weekends and closed the season early. “The publicity is out there incorrectly that there’s a shortage of Christmas trees, but what it is is that there’s a greater demand than there’s even been before,” Cheryll said. “So, people are afraid of not getting a tree.”
