Teachers in the Sequoia Union High School District are demanding increased salaries to keep up with the high cost of living in the Bay Area as they seek a new two-year contract.
Sequoia Union High School District s first Black female superintendent, Darnise Wiliams, resigned Wednesday after week of rumors that the board wanted to fire her.
The district called a special meeting for Monday to discuss Superintendent Darnise Williams s evaluation, the second one since August when she received all positive feedback.
In anticipation of a new state law requiring later start times, many local school districts have already made the shift. Other schools will be making the move for the first time this fall.
