Fight between two powerful republicans going strong. Rand paul is here and like mark levin, is ready to react to this. I have nothing personal against senator paul. If we disagree on certain issues we disagree. His response seems to be he has something personal against me. Thats okay, can he just get in line on that front. And here we go, welcome everybody, im neil cavuto and this is your world a controversial world. Mark levin speaks as the top two low pressures raise a stink. We hope to get on Chris Christie soon, weve had him on a number of times in the past so hope springs eternal. We have kentucky senator rand paul. Do you think its gone too far . I think its time to dial it down. We have enough democrats to attack maybe republicans can quit attacking republicans. York related republicans, including those who were pushing for sandy aid, the same aid that you had referred to as part of the gimme Gimme Mentality are angry at you. Wait, you know some of this, neil, comes from people
does it frequently. i give him credit for that. for trying to hammer something out. it may or may not fly. all we hear is the intransgent republicans. i think he deserves credit. this is not ease tee to sell to his own conference. i don t know whether we ll get there. we re going to lose a substantial number of republicans. we re going to lose a substantial number of democrats if we what we hear about the bill is that it doesn t go after any of the special interest tax breaks that democrats would like to see help finance an end to the sequester. democrats don t like the sequester level. we feel this is an austerity budget that is doing damage to the economy. i think if we had an economy, if we had a budget that was making an investment in infrastructure and jobs and we were able to pass the president s jobs bill, our economy would have fully
writing a piece on this and that so that the republicans faced a loss with regards to the government shutdown, very unpopular, but fiscally, they re winning the fight. they re keeping washington to spending levels that the democrats really don t want. so in the long-term, even if nothing comes out of this budget committee, it is going to be a win for the republicans. that s the part that i want to sort of understand here, so we had the whole dispute over the shutdown and the default and some coverage of the fact that democrats were saying you know, what was lost in this is democrats were saying, look, we don t want the shutdown, we don t want the default, but you can have these sequester level, spending levels for now. and that s where we are. we still have sequester level spending levels, there are additional sequester cuts that are scheduled to kick in starting january 15th. more cuts, more to the tea party side wants. the question, daphne, is if you re going to replace the seque
we need to pass what we call a cr, which is a budget bill at a level that i detest really, it s too low with the sequester level, but we need to pass that so we can get to a real budget committee and begin to talk about how we move forward. that s what we need to do. we have compromised quite a bit so we need to put the bill up. we need to ask the speak tore have some courage, i know that there are enough republicans to vote for that bill. we need to do that and move on. barbara lee, thank you for joining us tonight. is the democratic party is as united we have ever southeastern it, the republican party is as divided as we have ever seen it.
