Auto sales in September: The federation stated that it has shifted its stance from ‘cautiously optimistic’ to ‘optimistic’ and is anticipating a vibrant festive season for auto sales due to the approaching 42-days festive period.
In the passenger vehicle segment, Maruti Suzuki India reported a 3% year-on-year (YoY) rise in wholesale sales, while Tata Motors reported a 5% decline, largely to enable a smooth transition to new generation models like Nexon and Nexon EV.
TVS Motor Company announced that its total sales in September rose by 6 percent compared to the same month last year, reaching 402,553 units. The company also stated that their overall two-wheeler sales for the previous month increased by 7 percent year-on-year, totaling 386,955 units, compared to 361,729 units in September 2022.
Carmakers said they will continue to sell aggressively in October, when the peak of the festive season sets in with Navaratri, till Diwali, which is in November
