Ten army personnel have been martyred in Balochistan s Kech area after terrorist opened fire at a check post, the military’s media wing Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has confirmed. The attack took place at night between January 25 and January 26. ISPR said that one suspected terrorist was killed and several injured after security forces returned the fire. Three suspected terrorists surrendered in the subsequent clearance operation. A similar attack took place in Kech in December when terrorist opened fire at a check-post. Two soldiers, Lance Naik Manzar Abbas and Sepoy Abdul Fateh, were martyred in that attack.

In a statement, the military’s media wing said terrorists attacked a security check post that was built to stop terrorist activities. During the intense exchange of firing, Lance Naik Manzar Abbas and Sepoy Abdul Fateh were martyred. The soldiers hailed from Khoshab and Khazdar. “It is reminded that Pakistan’s security forces stay determined to defeat acts of cowardly terrorists, aimed at disrupting the peace, stability, and progress of Balochistan,” ISPR said. Federal Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid condemned the atta.
