5 days have now passed since the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Sephiroth presentation. You may recall that the character had been slated for a release of December 22nd, which is tonight. You may also recall that players could unlock Sephiroth early with the Sephiroth’s Challenge mode, allowing you to play as him and even do his Classic Mode run.
Well, if you’ve been waiting for that December 22nd date, now it’s your turn. Nintendo has released an update to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, bringing the game to version 10.1.0. Everyone that purchased the Sephiroth Challenger Pack or Fighter’s Pass can now play as Sephiroth, and the Sephiroth’s Challenge mode is no longer a necessary requiremnt to unlock him. Mii Costumes and some Final Fantasy spirits have also been added. The full patch notes are down below.

A new update for
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is now available on Nintendo Switch, and it will allow players to take on the game s new Sephiroth challenge. Revealed during today s Masahiro Sakurai presentation, the Sephiroth challenge will allow players to take on the

It s a very exciting day for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as the third character of Fighters Pass Vol. 2, Sephiroth, was both showcased and
technically released.
This new update is already available to download and we ve got a few quick patch notes thanks to Nintendo. To be clear, these don t involve any balance changes, though such a patch very well may come at a later date.
Today s notes mainly focus on how you can gain access to Sephiroth before his official release date on December 23. Masahiro Sakurai and his team have thought up something new for Ultimate as they showed off the Sephiroth Challenge, a mini mode boss battle that, when successfully completed, grants you access to the One-Winged Angel and his new Northern Cave stage.
