Nine out of 10 medical professionals in Seoul who have received their coronavirus jabs experienced side effects like pain and a fever.
In a poll of 1,708 members of the Seoul Medical Association released Wednesday, 1,506 or 88.4 percent said they experienced side effects. The poll was conducted on May 3-7. Respondents could give multiple answers.
Some 91.8 percent of respondents got AstraZeneca shots. Most or 66.1 percent experienced mild pains like aches around the injection spot.
Next came shivers and body aches (55.4 percent), muscle pain (45.2 percent), fever (36.8 percent), headache (28.5 percent), and muscle weakness (15.6 percent). Three respondents said they passed out.
Nevertheless, 78.2 percent insisted that everybody should get vaccinated. Park Myung-ha, the head of the association, said, Most doctors seem to believe that the social benefits from vaccination outweigh temporary side effects.
