no question. trace: on that note i want to play a sound bite that got a lot of attention the president talking about change we can believe in. when i said change we believe in i didn t say change we can believe in tomorrow. not change we can believe in, next week. we knew this was going to take time. because we ve got the big messy tough democracy. trace: is it your sense voters are saying when is the change going to happen? and is the president saferring that things are not working? chris: look, he has to be cognizant of reality. unemployment is 9.1 percent when they passed the stimulus in february of 2009 and they said it would not get over 8 percent and g.d.p. growth has slowed terribly and he says i didn t say change would come today or next week, we re not today or
why in. it s politically difficult. the house republicans i talked to this week they made a decision they are in fact going to go after entitlements. when they put together their budget for 2012 which will be later in the spring and probably in may, april/may they are going to include real entitlement reform, that s when the sparks are going to fly. politically that s the biggest issue of them all. jon: do you get the sense voters are ready to support them on that. i don t really know. if you see what happens in new jersey when governor cristie is trying to cut spending, he has support and kept that support. medicare in particular is very, very difficult. i think they can reform immediatmedicaidwhich is a statl program. medicare is more difficult. that s the big question, where will the politics fall. jon: you can catch more of paul tomorrow when he hosts the journal editorial report at 2:00pm eastern time here on fox news channel. and then please stay by your sets i ll have a grea
