JOHNSTOWN The city of Johnstown Water Department will begin flushing fire hydrants between 6 a.m. and 2 p.m. Monday and will continue through May 11, according to a news release.
The residents may notice a drop in water pressure and are advised to use caution while doing laundry, as flushing may cause water discoloration. The residents are advised that if they have discoloration in their water to let the water run for a few minutes and the water should clear up. The water is safe for drinking, cooking and bathing, according to Senior Water Plant Operator John Denmark.
