The seemingly cursed year of 2020 did manage do one thing well: pull us back into the cool allure of the Texas drive-in. Just roll into the drive-in, watch a movie under the stars and get a socially-distanced experience that brings you a little normalcy in the pandemic.
Moonstruck Drive-In at East River satisfied that magical draw back to drive-ins when it opened last September. Now, Houston movie buffs are in for a distinct cinematic treat, as the Sundance Satellite Film Festival debuts at the Moonstruck Drive-In this weekend. Moonstruck Drive-In Cinema at East River was selected as one of the three 2021 Sundance Film Festival world premiere locations in Texas. This popular East End drive-in can accommodate up to 150 cars, which make it one of the largest satellite location in the nation.
