Police in Jammu in India have urged a high level of alertness and offensive measures to prevent possible terror attacks leading up to Independence Day on 15 August. Senior officers have stressed the need for intensified checking and strengthened border security. Joint checkpoints will also be established at vulnerable locations and inter-district borders. The police have also stressed the need for anti-drone measures and a border deployment grid.
