UP: BSP leader kills self at Sahaswan tehsil office in Badaun, blames harassment by SDM in suicide note
A 40-year-old BSP leader committed suicide at a tehsil office in Uttar Pradesh s Badaun district after he was allegedly harassed by the SDM and a revenue official over a land allotment issue. The BSP leader, who left a two-page suicide note, held the sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) of Sahaswan tehsil and a kanungo responsible for the extreme step.

Badaun: A temple mahant who is the main accused in the alleged gangrape of an anganwadi worker in this Uttar Pradesh district was produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate on Friday and was sent to jail on 14 days judicial remand. Mahant Satya Narayan, around 50 years old, was earlier taken to the district hospital for medical examination. He was arrested late Thursday night and was quizzed for his alleged role in the gangrape for hours.
