Public Invited to Spring Severe Weather Workshop April 27

The Village of Schaumburg is inviting the public to attend a Spring Severe Weather Workshop designed to provide participants with a variety of information and resources to remain safe when inclement weather strikes. The workshop, which is sponsored by the Village of Schaumburg Emergency Management and the village’s Medical Reserve Corps, will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 27 at the Al Larson Prairie Center for the Arts, 201 Schaumburg Ct., Schaumburg. The event is free and open to Schaumburg residents. Seating at the event is limited. Schaumburg Barn Senior Center temporarily closed

The Schaumburg Barn Senior Center at 231 S. Civic Drive will be closed to the public until further notice, and all programming is temporarily suspended, due to rising COVID-19 cases.

Solar project completed at East Hartford senior center

A solar energy developer has completed work on a rooftop solar array at an East Hartford senior center expected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and save local taxpayers an average of $12,500 annually. Hartford-based Verogy announced it has wrapped construction on a 121-kilowatt photovoltaic system atop a building at 15 Milbrook Drive that houses both the South End Senior Center and the town’s Senior Services Division.

Aurora to host listening sessions for senior citizens this month

The City of Aurora s Senior Services Division will host a series of listening sessions for seniors citizens in Aurora. The "Enhancing Life and Legacy" listening tour is an opportunity for senior citizens and their caretakers to voice their opinions regarding the types of services, resources, and support they receive or need within the Aurora community.
