Bonhams to Host Cape Winemakers Guild Protégé Online Auction in June Bonhams is to host an online auction on behalf of the Cape Winemakers Guild Protégé Programme. The sale, which commences on Friday 4 June and runs until Monday 21 June, will feature 75 lots including top-class wines, lunches, dinners, accommodation, and tastings from members of the Guild. All proceeds will be invested in the Protégé Programme which supports young wine making talent and, in the process, the future of the wine industry in South Africa. The wines and other lots have all been donated by CWG members and include collections from Protégés who, having graduated from the programme, are now running their own businesses and are keen to support those who come after them. The outstanding lot is made up of 43 bottles – a wine from each of the CWG 43 members – and includes several rarities.

NEW YORK, NY .-Christie’s will present Vincent van Gogh’s spectacular landscape Le pont de Trinquetaille as a highlight of the 20th Century Evening Sale at Christie’s New York on 13 May ($25,000,000-35,000,000). Painted during Van Gogh’s pivotal fifteen-month stay in Arles, situated on the Rhône River in the Provence region of Southern France, Le pont de Trinquetaille with its electric color palette and expressive brushwork is emblematic of the artist’s mature period.
