Renew Detroit is a program that provides free repairs to eligible Detroit homeowners using funds from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). The program will be held in two phases, starting with the first phase of roof replacement . More than 1,500 homeowners will receive free repairs through the program. This program uses the Homeowner Property Tax Exemption (HOPE) as part of its qualification process. HOPE is a low-income homeowner's tax exemption, formerly known as HPTAP.
