NCPA’s LTC division continues to advocate for medical-at-home services. Most recently, we’ve worked with the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists and the Senior Care Pharmacy Coalition to launch the Alliance for Long-Term Care Pharmacy at Home with a new website. NCPA is currently working with the coalition to develop a policy document to advance our legislative and regulatory agenda.
A group of pharmacies, professional associations, and care management groups yesterday announced the formation of the Alliance for LTC Pharmacy @ Home. The new organization grew from the efforts of the NCPA Long-Term Care Division, the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists, and the Senior Care Pharmacy Coalition. Advances in technology make it possible to treat more and more patients with chronic illnesses in their own homes instead of facilities. The demand for pharmacies to treat this population is growing dramatically.
