Tonight, at Columbia University, the epicenter of the demonstrations, dozens of propalestinian students have barricaded themselves inside a campus building, and they now face expulsion from the ivy league school. A White House Spokesman today saying forcibly taking over buildings is not peaceful, it is wrong. At the university of North Carolina in chapel hill, police forcefully removed protesters this morning. More than half of those arrested were not even affiliated with the university. In recent weeks, protests have been staged at more than 60 campuses. More than a thousand people have been arrested. Many protesters are calling for the schools to taught ties with companies linked to israel and to be transparent about their investments. Senior Biden administration officials were to arrive in Armenia on Monday, a U.S. official told Reuters, after ethnic Armenians in Nagorno-Karabakh began a mass exodus on Sunday following Azerbaijan's defeat of the breakaway region's fighters in a conflict dating from the Soviet era. The visit by U.S. Agency for International Development chief Samantha Power and U.S. State Department Acting Assistant Secretary for Europe and Eurasian Affairs Yuri Kim would be the first by senior U.S. officials to Armenia since a ceasefire last week. Power will meet with senior government officials and will "affirm U.S. support for Armenia’s democracy, sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity and commitment to address humanitarian needs stemming from Nagorno-Karabakh," the official said.
