The Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, came under attacks yesterday for comparing open grazing to spare parts.
Malami, in an interview with Channels Television on Wednesday, had likened the southern governors’ resolution at its recent meeting in Asaba, Delta State, to ban open grazing to prohibiting spare parts trading in the north.
According to hum, the decision to ban open grazing “does not hold water” in the context of human rights as enshrined in the constitution.

At an emergency meeting of the PDP Board of Trustees (BOT) held yesterday, the National Chairman of the party, Prince Uche Secondus rendered the party’s quarterly account of programmes and activities, stating that the party suspended three zonal congresses in the southwest, North-central and North-west to give room for more reconciliations.
Also, the governors elected on the platform of the PDP are expected to hold an emergency meeting today to review the activities of the party.
This is coming as the Chairman of the PDP BoT, Senator Walid Jubrin urged members of the party at all levels to embrace peace and embark on reconciliations for the party to be victorious at the 2023 general election.

Last December, the Prince Uche Secondus-led National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) inaugurated a six-member National Reconciliation and Strategic Committee with the immediate past Senate President, Bukola Saraki, as chairman.

As part of efforts to reconcile members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and reshape the party ahead of the 2023 general elections, the party’s Reconciliation and Strategy Committee, led by former Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, yesterday met with former President Goodluck Jonathan, in Abuja.
The meeting came amid speculations that the ruling All Progressives Congress, (APC) is scheming to poach the former president.
THISDAY had reported that the former president had last weekend dismissed insinuations that he was set to leave the PDP for the APC.
Saraki told reporters after the meeting that Jonathan assured the committee that he was ready to offer PDP his experience and resources if called upon to do so.
