Senate teams meets Djibouti PM

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – A three-member delegation from Pakistan headed by Secretary-General International Parliamentarians’ Congress (IPC) Senator Muhammad Ali Saif on Thursday was warmly welcomed by Prime Minister Abdoulkader Kamil Mohamed in Djibouti.
The other members were included Senator Mirza Mohammad Afridi and Fayyaz Thaheem, Manager Procurement, and Coordination (IPC), said a press release.
The PM assured that Djibouti and Pakistan would corporate together in the energy, health, and education sectors and also welcomed the idea of investments from Pakistan to invest in these sectors in Djibouti.
PML-Q gains ‘importance’ in wake of Senate polls
The party is expected to make a major announcement in this regard

The lawmakers of Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) have gained importance in the wake of Senate polls scheduled to be held next month.
Half of the Senate members are retiring next month. Currently, the opposition has a majority in the house but after the election, it is expected that the strength of government and opposition members in the 100-strong house would become almost equal.
Sources said that after the election, the ruling coalition, comprising PTI, Balochistan Awami Party (BAP), Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P), Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) and the PML-Q, may rise to 49.
ICCI urges for promoting trade ties between Pakistan and Djibouti

Acting President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Fatma Azim has urged Pakistan and the Republic of Djibouti to focus on promoting bilateral trade and economic relations as both countries have the potential to do trade in many items.
She said this while addressing a delegation of the Republic of Djibouti that visited Pakistan led by Mohamed Ali Houmed, President, National Assembly. Senator Mirza Muhammad Afridi, Chairman, Senate Standing Committee on Commerce and Textile Industry was also present at the occasion.
Fatma Azim said that Republic of Djibouti was situated at a strategic location in Africa and enhancing trade cooperation with it would provide Pakistan better access to African markets.
