authorize military training of veteran syrian rebels, vetted syrian rebels? what the president said today, what i can tell you, first, we have been engaged in an effort to support the moderate opposition, both the political civilian opposition, and the armed opposition over the last couple of years. and we intend to continue that support and to build on it. second, we re working closely with the neighboring states, as i mentioned a moment ago, to include jordan, to include saudi arabia, the uae, turkey, iraq, and others, who are feeling effect of syria. what the president talked about today was taking greater steps to bill their capacity, to deal with some of the problems, borders, terrorism, refugee flows and working with congress to develop that support. and with congress, we will look for ways to increase our effectiveness in supporting the syrian opposition. there have been interesting ideas that have come up in congress recently, including from the armed services committee, sena

the government through continuing resolutions which is what they ve been doing for several years is wasteful and in efficien efficient. senator johnson says he ll support this bipartisan budget plan as long as the senate does nothing to worsen the bill. new hampshire senator is among those concerns with the veteran cuts. another veteran republican explains why he is a yes on the budget compromise. particularly sensitive about the military. i ve talked to our military leaders. they say theyed aboutly need this relief. i wish this provision was not in there that concerns the military retirement issue. senator levin has assured me and others we ll take up this issue in the next year s authorization
